The specific facial features common with individuals with Down syndrome, means “typical” glasses tend to slide down, fall forward and bow out at the temples. It is a constant daily struggle for anyone with Down syndrome to see properly due to the problems with “typical” glasses and many people simply give up and stop wearing glasses, dramatically hindering their ability to function in school, the community and at home.
