We were delighted to support a very special event celebrating the doctors and clinical teams helping to shape the next generation of NHS professionals in Leeds.
Simon Falk Eyecare was proud to sponsor the inaugural Foundation Excellence in Supervision and Training Awards (FESTA), held at the Thackray Museum of Medicine on 10 September.
The awards were organised by the Foundation Training Programme directors at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and recognised the outstanding contribution made by senior clinicians, educational supervisors and clinical teams supporting foundation doctors working across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and General Practice.
Foundation doctors are in the first two years of their medical careers after graduating from medical school. During this important stage, the guidance and support they receive from experienced clinicians can make a real difference to their development.
The FESTA awards gave foundation doctors themselves the opportunity to nominate the supervisors and clinical teams who had made a particularly positive contribution to their early careers.
This made the evening especially meaningful, with the recognition coming directly from the doctors who had benefited from their time, knowledge and encouragement.
Simon Falk Eyecare sponsored the awards and provided gift bags for the winners, with Leah Khan and Julie Clarkson representing us at the ceremony.

The evening brought together senior clinicians and members of the Medical Education team to recognise some of the people making an important contribution to medical education and training across Leeds.
As an independent eyecare and hearing care practice with strong roots in the local community, supporting FESTA was a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate people working within the wider Leeds healthcare community.
Congratulations to all the nominees and award winners, and to everyone whose dedication, knowledge and support are helping the next generation of NHS doctors develop their skills and confidence.
We were very proud to play a small part in celebrating them.
