Children’s vision is so important for Simon, Leah & Hannah. Hannah joined the team in 2016 and is a qualified Optometrist. Simon undertakes vision screening in primary schools. Both are passionate that lazy eyes are a thing of the past.
At Simon Falk Eyecare we understand the fitting and comfort of children’s spectacle frames is crucial, so we use only our registered Dispensing Opticians. Under the Opticians Act, only registered Opticians can fit and supply spectacles to under 16’s. This is often not the case in larger multiple stores.
Not only should the glasses fit well, there is a wide range of lenses to choose from. Thinner, lighter, UV protective and safe. Our registered dispensing opticians are there to give advice on all matters.
All children want to look good in their glasses and we now stock a very wide range of frames.
Clear vision for your little ones
The importance of sunglasses for children cannot be underestimated. Research has shown that 80% of UV is absorbed before 14 years old. This can lead to earlier cataract and age related macular degeneration. We recommend that children protect their eyes from UV with a wide brimmed hat or cap plus UV400 blocking sunglasses. We stock, amongst others, Junior Ray-Bans, as well as a simple range of sunglasses starting from as little as £5.
With our sporting connections we are able to provide advice on all aspects of sport and vision for children. From contact lens fitting to supply of sports goggles or prescription swimming goggles. Erin’s World™ is a frame range designed to accommodate and fit children and adults with Down syndrome which makes it superior to all current frames. Unlike other frames, the bridge is adjusted to fit on the unique features of the nose and the temples (a.k.a. arms) are modified to keep the glasses from constantly slipping.
Erin’s World™ frames are available in a variety of sizes and styles to fit toddlers through adults.
